Dr. Mark McAndrew, M.D. is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in orthopaedic trauma. He received his medical degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. He then completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Iowa, followed by an orthopaedic trauma fellowship in Basel Switzerland. Dr. McAndrew is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Prior to joining SIU, Dr. McAndrew was an associate professor of orthopaedic surgery at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition, he served as Associate Director of Orthopaedic Trauma at the Medical Center. Previously, he served as Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Head of Trauma at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas. Prior to that, Dr. McAndrew worked as an instructor and later as assistant professor at Texas Tech University School of Medicine in El Paso, Texas. Dr. McAndrew is a member of several medical societies including the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, and the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. McAndrew has about 60+ publications in medical journals, has given 50+ scientific presentations, has served as faculty at numerous trauma conferences, and has received several research grants.
