We encourage interested fourth year medical students to spend 2 -4 weeks rotating with us on campus.  We believe this opportunity gives the applicant the best chance to understand why we chose to be here and why we believe we are one of the top programs in the country.  During your rotation you will have a chance to spend time with both our program director Dr. Gabriel and our chairman Dr. Saleh.   Rotating students will be expected to actively participate in patient care in the clinic, on the floor, and in the operating room.  You will also be expected to take call with the residents (link to residents page) on weekdays and weekends. Beginning April 2009, SIU now participates in the AAMC VSAS (Visiting Student Application Services) to help make the process a bit more efficient for you.  Please follow the link to SIU’s visiting student policy page and be sure to let us know how we can help you in this application process.
