We are fortunate to live in an era of longer life expectancy. However, as we age we are still faced with age-related disabilities. The daily impact of many disabilities is reduced today due to research discoveries during the last 20 years, particularly in the areas of implant design, biomechanics, and surgical techniques. Past research efforts have brought us fantastic advancements, most notably in the areas of total knee and hip replacement. Today’s technologies were created by significant investments in time, resources, and infrastructure. We believe our research efforts today and in the future will have a positive impact on the development of the next generation treatment options for our patients.
