Brief Bio
Dr. Khaled Saleh is nationally and internationallyrenowned for cutting edge surgery related to adult reconstructive orthopaedic surgery and joint replacement. This includes joint replacement and revision, minimally invasive procedures and hip resurfacing. His research interests include epidemiology, clinical trials and health economics.
Dr. Saleh received his medical training at the University of Western Ontario, graduating in 1991. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Toronto in 1997 followed by a fellowship in geriatric orthpaedics at the University of Toronto at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Toronto. In 1998/99, he was a clinical instructor at Cornell Medical College Hospital for Special Surgery.
In July 1999, he joined the Department of Orthopeadic Surgery at the University of Minnesota. In 2004, he became the Division Chief of Adult Reconstruction in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Virginia. Most recently he completed a Masters in Health Care Management from Harvard School of Public Health, Executive Program.
Dr. Saleh is considered one of the leading experts in Health Services Research in musculoskeletal medicine and his work has been recognized and supported by over $6.9 million of grant funding from several agencies and has resulted in more than 150 scientific manuscripts. This body of work has been recognized nationally by the Institute of Medicine, National Research Council of the National Academies of Science, National KECK Foundation, National Institutes of Health, as well as
internationally.
Dr. Saleh is active in several professional organizations including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Association of Hip & Knee Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Association, American College of Physician Executives and Association of Bone Joint Surgeons.
