Dr. James P. Malone is an assistant professor in the Division of Otolaryngology at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He is board certified in Otolaryngology. His subspecialty training and expertise are in Head and Neck Surgery and reconstructive surgery of the head and neck including microvascular (free flap) surgery.

Dr. Malone completed a fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular surgery at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He completed his residency in otolaryngology at The Pennsylvania State University in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Dr. Malone received his medical degree from The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and his bachelor's degree from The Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Malone is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, the American Head and Neck Society, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group. His research interests include tissue and serum banking for Head and Neck Surgery, lymphatic mapping/sentinel lymph node biopsy for oral cavity cancer, and the applications of telehealth medicine to otolaryngology.
