Dr. Franziska Huettner is a fellowship trained, double board certified, plastic and reconstructive surgeon, specializing in cosmetic facial, cosmetic and reconstructive breast, as well as body contouring surgery. After completing her Plastic Surgery Residency in Birmingham, Alabama, under the guidance of Dr. Louis O Vasconez, one of the famous leaders in Plastic Surgery, she received additional training during her fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery of the face, breast, and body at the world renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation under the guidance of Dr. Jim E. Zins. Dr. Huettner then remained on staff as teaching faculty at the Cleveland Clinic foundation before joining as Assistant Professor of Surgery and a partner at the Institute for Plastic Surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 2014.
Dr. Huettner grew up and lived in Germany until graduating from Medical School in 2005. In addition to earning her medical degree, she completed her PhD in Medical Science in the field of surgical oncology with summa cum laude at the Friedrich-Schiller- University, Jena, Germany. She completed her general surgery residency in Peoria, IL and is board certified in General Surgery.
