Dr. Nicole Z. Sommer is an Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at The Institute for Plastic Surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.  She serves as the Director of the SIU Cosmetic Center as well as Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois.

Dr. Sommer is qualified to treat all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery.  She has specialized training in all types of breast surgery including reconstruction, augmentation, reduction and asymmetry surgery, revision surgery, and gynecomastia treatment.  Dr. Sommer also has interest in body contouring procedures and in surgical and non-surgical correction of facial aging.

Dr. Sommer received both her medical degree and plastic surgery training from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.  She completed a fellowship in breast and cosmetic surgery at the Institute of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery in Nashville, TN.

Dr. Sommer is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  She is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Plastic Surgery Research Council, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, along with many others.  Dr. Sommer was recently named one of Springfield’s “Most Interesting People” as well as “Springfield’s Favorite Cosmetic Surgeon (2013).”
