Brief Biography

Rebecca Saunders is an Advanced Practice Nurse in the Division of Urology at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. She obtained her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree at Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing in Peoria, Illinois, in 2001 and her Master’s of Science in Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago in Peoria in 2006. She is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.

Mrs. Saunders practices in many aspects of pediatric urology but specializes in the treatment of incontinence, dysuria, nocturnal enuresis, frequent urination, urinary track infections, and urethral reflux.

Prior to joining Southern Illinois University, Mrs. Saunders worked as a nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

Mrs. Saunders is a member of several organizations including the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, the Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nursing, and the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates.

Mrs. Saunders and her husband, Josh, reside in Morton.
