Dr. James Pan is an assistant professor of surgery in the Division of Vascular Surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He attended an accelerated combined degree program in medicine, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in science in 2003 from Youngstown State University in Ohio and medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University in 2007.  He then completed a general surgery residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH in 2012, followed by a 2-year fellowship in vascular surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. 

Dr Pan is board-certified in both general and vascular surgery. He specializes in the treatment of arterial occlusive diseases, aneurysms, cerebrovascular disorders, and is involved in creating dialysis access for patients with end stage renal disease. He administers wound care at the Memorial Wound Center and is certified to supervise hyperbaric
oxygen chamber therapy in patients with complex wounds. In addition, he provides sclerotherapy and is trained in both endovenous laser and radiofrequency ablation for patients with cosmetic and non-cosmetic venous disorders at the Vein Clinic at SIU. He has particular interest in minimally invasive techniques for lower extremity occlusive diseases and aneurysms as well as being actively involved in the education of both surgical residents and medical students at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.
