    About me

    Brooke Miller joined SIU faculty upon completion of the PA Program in 2006. Prior to becoming a PA, she was a corporate trainer working in the US and Australia and performed international relief work, including building schools for girls and a hospital in Afghanistan. She is an accomplished grant writer, authoring/co-authoring over 25 million dollars of awarded grants in her career. During her time away from the program, she served as chief operating officer of a regional federally qualified health center. Dr. Miller is the chair of the student progress committee, the RSO advisor, coordinates one of five units in Phase I, and facilitates problem-based learning groups. Her teaching interests include interprofessional/interdisciplinary learning, population health and the social determinants of health, trauma informed care, infectious diseases and immunology, and faculty development. She practices as a PA at SIU Family Medicine where she also mentors PA students.
