    Dr. Carlos Illingworth is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He is a neurologist who specializes in Neurocritical and Stroke care.

    Dr. Illingworth earned his medical degree at Universidad Catolica Santiago de Guayaquil, Ecuador. He completed his internal medicine preliminary year at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Darby, PA, and then his Neurology residency at Drexel University / Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Following this, he completed a fellowship in Neurocritical Care at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA. 

    Dr. Illingworth is certified in neurology and neurocritical care by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). His research interests include neuroinflammation, status epilepticus, and intracranial hemorrhages.
