The Dale and Deborah Smith Center for Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment at SIU Medicine is now enrolling patients with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease to help determine if an investigational drug is effective at treating this debilitating condition.

Traves Crabtree, MD, has been named chief of SIU Medicine's Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Dr. Crabtree is a professor and medical director of SIU's Surgical Skills Laboratory in the Memorial Center for Learning and Innovation. Dr. Crabtree is an alumnus of SIU School of Medicine.

SIU Medicine will continue COVID-19 testing for the Springfield community in March. On Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, the testing operation will be hosted by Abundant Faith Christian Center located at 2525 Taylor Ave. Mondays: 9 – 11 a.m. and 1 – 4 p.m.
