    Why they chose SIU

When I was in my 4th year of medical school, I had the opportunity to visit SIU Dermatology for a two-week rotation and immediately knew this program was special. The faculty and residents were not only incredibly knowledgeable and wonderful clinicians, they were kind and welcoming and the epitome of the kind of dermatologist I hope to become. Springfield is a "big city" for me, but the people are still the Midwesterners I know and love! SIU is a true gem, and I am excited to learn and grow in such an amazing program.
