    About me

    Laurie Ryznyk is one of the founders of the SIU PA Program, helping to develop the curriculum, clinical sites, and evaluation methods utilized throughout all phases of the program. She leads workshops in Problem-Based Learning concepts and methodology in medical education. Ms. Ryznyk’s other teaching interests include infectious disease, women’s health, internal medicine, clinical reasoning, and diversity in medicine. She has been active in teaching about human trafficking to schools, health care and service providers, and serves on the Central Illinois Human Trafficking Task Force.

    Clinically Ms. Ryznyk has worked in family medicine in rural and underserved clinics in Memphis, Tennessee, and southern Illinois, and currently practices at SIU Carbondale Family Medicine.
