Carol Coniglio, AIC

Medical Education Program Coordinator
Population Science and Policy

    About me

    Primary Responsibilities:

My primary responsibilities include providing coordination and ongoing support for the Population Science and Policy curriculum, which consists of traditional lectures, online resources, and electives for SIU SOM medical students, and serving as a liaison between PSP Faculty and students. Other duties involve administrative support for the MD/MPH Joint Degree Program and education-related projects within the Department.

    About:

I grew up in Riverton, Illinois where I graduated high school. Continuing my education, I studied Secretarial Administration at Robert Morris University in Springfield. After college, I worked at Memorial Medical Center as a Laboratory Medical Transcriptionist and at SIU Otolaryngology Department as a Secretary III for a combined five years. Later, I pursued a career at Shelter Insurance in the Claims Department and Catastrophe Team for twenty-one years. This rewarding work allowed me to travel to many of our operating regions across the United States assisting customers after devastating losses such as tornados, hurricanes and hail/wind damage. I was excited to return to SIU in the fall of 2017. I was Office Manager for Family & Community Medicine Department for three and a half years before transferring to Population Science and Policy in early 2021. In my spare time, I love to read, snuggle with my dog, spend time with family and friends, hike and watch or attend hockey, baseball, and football games.
