Brittany N. Ottino, PsyD

Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry


Dr. Ottino joined SIU Medicine in 2014.  She specializes in child and adolescent psychology, providing individual and family therapy, as well as psychological evaluations related to academic, social, behavioral, and personality functioning.  Dr. Ottino provides clinical services in general practice to patients with mood, anxiety, and behavioral disorders, and has special interests in working with patients combating eating disorders and substance use disorders.  Aligned with these interests, Dr. Ottino also teaches courses on substance use and eating disorders for the medical school, helping medical students and psychiatry residents establish a foundation in these disorders to support their practice as future physicians.  Prior to joining SIU, Dr. Ottino served as the Program Director for one of Central Illinois’ largest substance use treatment facilities, where she oversaw clinical services, medical, and dietary programs in addition to administrative responsibilities.  Dr. Ottino has also provided clinical services in forensic settings with both juvenile and adult offenders, as well with children and families in a therapeutic day school.  She has collaborated with local media and served as an online contributing author to heighten awareness of substance use disorders, and has contributed to the training and development of many professionals within this field.
