Sidney Smith, MD, FAAP

Upon completion of Dr. Smith’s Medical School education at Northwestern University Medical School, a pediatric residency at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria and his United States Navy military service in 1970, Dr. Smith was invited to join the Pediatric staff of the Carbondale Clinic.  He was then invited to join the faculty of the newly established Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.  For many years, Dr. Smith served as a clinical professor with the medical school and had the opportunity to work with the developing physicians.

Dr. Smith currently serves as a member of the faculty of the SIU School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program.
