Professional Liability Insurance
Residents and fellows are provided professional liability coverage through the hospitals. It will provide legal defense and protection against awards from claims reported or filed after the completion of the residency program if the alleged acts or omissions of the resident were within the scope of the residency program, in accordance with the affiliated hospitals’ self-insured trust and liability policy.
AT&T & Verizon both give 22% discounts on cellular service to residents. There is a free minivan ‘shuttle’ that runs between the two hospitals weekdays from 6:30am to 6:30 pm. This service is great as it is a free ride and helps to make the trip between the hospitals a bit quicker, easier, and you don’t have to give up your prime parking spot.Attn: Residency Program Coordinator Barbara Robinson SIU Department of Surgery
