Meet Our Residency Program Partners!

Alton Memorial Hospital

Alton Memorial Hospital (AMH) is part of the Barnes-Jewish-Christian (BJC) group. Since 1937, AMH has served the Alton and surrounding areas and sponsors the SIU Alton Family Medicine Residency Program. AMH serves as the primary site for hospital rotations during residency, and for many subspecialty rotations that occur on the hospital campus with various physicians, both outpatient and inpatient.

Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation

Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation (SIHF) is a large Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with practice locations across southern and central Illinois. The SIU Alton Family Medicine Residency clinical practice is a part of SIHF’s Alton practice site and is located in Medical Office Building B on the Alton Memorial Hospital campus. The clinic provides a patient-centered medical home for our community using an interdisciplinary team approach to care. In addition to the Family Medicine Residency Practice, the SIHF Alton site houses Pediatrics, Obstetrics-Gynecology, and Behavioral Health.

St. Louis Children's Hospital

Established in 1879 as a 15-bed facility in downtown St. Louis, SLCH is now a 350-bed institution offering a full range of pediatric services. The immediate service area has a population of 2.8 million, but the hospital has cared for patients from all 50 states and 80 countries. The hospital is staffed exclusively by Washington University faculty physicians and employs 3,000 people. The Washington University Pediatrics Residency Program partners with us in providing inpatient pediatrics and
emergency pediatrics experiences for residents.

Madison County Health Department

In response to a community need for COVID-19 testing resources, the Madison County Health Department initiated a mobile testing unit to reach underserved, low-income and minority communities.  Dr. Becky Hoffman is leading this team of community healthworkers from SIHF, the SIU School of Medicine, and the SIUE School of Nursing with the mobile unit supplied by Lewis and Clark Community College.
