Tuition Assistance Programs
Tuition reimbursement is available to Civil Service, Principal Administrative and Research employees who are enrolled at any other degree granting institution not covered by the tuition waiver program. The institution must be accredited and the coursework must be for credit; tuition for non-credit coursework will not be reimbursed. The maximum amount of tuition reimbursement shall be based on an employee's annual salary.
This benefit is not available for Faculty employees.
Tuition waiver (graduate and undergraduate) is available to Civil Service employees at all state supported universities.
Tuition waivers are available to Faculty, Principal Administrative, and Research employees at SIU-Carbondale and SIU-Edwardsville only.
Effective January 1, 1998 Public Act 90-0282 directed Illinois public universities to make available a 50% tuition waiver for undergraduate education at Illinois public universities for eligible children, under age 25, of employees of public universities who have seven (7) or more years of total employment, at 50% time or greater.
