    About me

    Elizabeth Ramsey Unal, MD, is an Associate Professor of Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

    Dr. Unal is a graduate of SIU School of Medicine. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where she served as administrative chief resident during her final year of residency. After completion of her residency, she joined the SIU Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as a general OB/GYN for two years. She then completed her Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship and masters in Clinical Research at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, rejoining SIU in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in September 2012.

    Her clinical interests include critical care obstetrics, maternal medical disorders complicating pregnancy, as well as improving care through medical simulations and standardizing protocols to help reduce maternal morbidity and mortality.

    Dr. Unal is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
