Humorist Kay Frances to speak at Women's Power Lunch April 28

Published Date:

Author and humorist Kay Frances will provide laughter and tips to “lighten up, stress less and take care of ourselves” at the 2023 Women’s Power Lunch on Friday, April 28, in Springfield.

With degrees in health education and business and her background as a professional standup comedian, Frances will share what she's learned through her research, education and personal experience. The lessons are delivered with lots of laughs, she says, because “I know the value of humor for our overall well-being and how therapeutic it is. It really does help the medicine go down!” Frances will be the special speaker at the annual fundraising event for cancer research at Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU.

The doors open at 11 a.m. and the luncheon begins at 11:45 at the President Abraham Lincoln Hotel, 701 E. Adams St. Tickets are $50. Guests can register online for tickets, tables or sponsorships, or call 217-545-2955.

All proceeds raised at the event stay in the region and benefit cancer research at Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU.

Women’s Power Lunch Against Cancer supporters include Leader Sponsor: Pam Speer; Power of the Woman Sponsors: Sally Brackney, BRANDT, Patti Camille, Melinda LaBarre, Deb Sarsany Team at The Real Estate Group, Solomon Colors, Inc.; and Colleague Sponsors: Mary L.
