Janet Patterson, MD

Janet Patterson, MD is an Associate Professor at SIU School of Medicine and Chief of the Developmental Pediatrics and Psychology division. She specializes in the developmental and behavioral outcomes of young children.  She received her medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine.  Dr. Patterson completed her residency at SIU School of Medicine and went on to complete her Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Developmental and Behavioral Health with the University of Chicago Hospitals.  She received her Board Certification in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics in March of 2015.  She has held several administrative roles including Chief Medical Officer at the Community Health Improvement Center in Decatur, Illinois; Medical Director of the Children’s Diagnostic Clinic at SIU School of Medicine and the Medical Director of Autism Services with Easter Seals of Central Illinois.  Dr. Patterson is currently the Director of Undergraduate Medical Education in the Department of Pediatrics and she will assume the role of Director of Graduate Medical Education in July 2017.
