    About me

    Dr. Seleena Shrestha has been a faculty member at Southern Illinois University since 2014.  She has experience in treating a wide range of psychiatric illnesses with special interest in Autism Spectrum Disorder, trauma and related disorders, OCD, Psychotic Disorders and ADHD.  Not only is she intrigued by the biological and epigenetic basis of Psychiatry, but she also believes in the importance of integrating Psychotherapeutic approaches, like CBT, into medication management sessions.  Dr. Shrestha has worked in a variety of settings such as inpatient, outpatient, including Mental Health Centers, treating patients of all age groups.  She is dedicated to serving the rural community and believes that Mental Health services should be readily accessible to them.  She is interested in the use of modern approaches like video based telepsychiatry.
