I thought it would provide an experience that would be similar and applicable to my future career. SIU's program also reached out to my school to give us advice on away rotations and applications since we did not have a home program, which showed me that they do things for the benefit of those around them even if it isn't required. I was also really impressed by the medical simulation capabilities and skills labs, which I think are critical as we progress forward in how we approach medical education.
