Pathways to Certification
CRSS training and apprenticeship program
Training, learning and development for individuals with lived experience with a mental health condition and/or substance use challenges.
CRSS training and apprenticeship program is available for Central and Southern Illinois residents. Classes will be held in Carbondale on the SIU campus and in Springfield. It is available for individuals who want to receive certification as a recovery support specialist or a peer recovery specialist
Program requirements:
- 100 hours of classroom coursework
- 44 hours of additional training and education
- 2000 apprenticeship – paid work experience
Upon completion of the course, you will be prepared for either CRSS or CPRS certification. Individuals who participate in this program will receive certification from the U.S. Department of Labor.
Stipends are available to help cover living expenses and class supplies. Classes count for up to seven hours of college credit
CRSS Success
This program is available in Dixon Illinois available for individuals who want to receive certification as a recovery support specialist or a peer recovery specialist.
