Orthopedic Grand Rounds

SIU Orthopedic Surgery Residency presents Orthopedic Grand Rounds. We welcome Kenneth Thomas, MD of Orthopaedic Physicians Alaska. He will present "Orthopedic Surgery in Alaska: Unique Aspects of Working in the Last Frontier" on Monday, December 5, 2022, from 6:30 - 7:30 a.m. in Memorial Learning Center Room 2A.

The practice of orthopedic surgery in Alaska presents unique challenges. The vast geography, extreme cold temperatures, wildlife, fishing, oil production, and socioeconomic factors all contribute to an interesting and unique array of orthopedic pathology. Dr. Thomas will present a general interest lecture about Alaska and his experiences as an Alaskan orthopedic trauma surgeon for over a decade.
