"A History of Innovation" by visiting professor M. Ashraf Mansour, MD, MBA, FACS

The Folse-Birtch-Sumner Lectureship is an annual event celebrating the Department of Surgery's founding surgeons - J. Roland Folse, MD; Alan Birtch, MD; and David, Sumner, MD. Many former and current surgery residents, fellows, and faculty celebrate their legacy of hard work, dedication, and strength of character. This year's visiting professor, Dr. Ash Mansour, is Professor of Surgery and Director of Cardiovascular Medicine at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery for Corewell Health West Michigan in Grand Rapids. He completed his general surgery training at the University of Colorado and his vascular surgery fellowship at Southern Illinois University, where he trained with Dr. David Sumner.
