Ian VanAntwerp, DO

Dr. Ian VanAntwerp was born and raised in Kewanee Illinois, about a two hour drive from Springfield. He met his wife during undergraduate and afterwards they moved to Arizona where he went to medical school at Midwestern University.  

They enjoyed the year round sun and Dr. VanAntwerp spent a large portion of his free time playing basketball. They also had an amazing time hiking the Arizona mountains. They decided to come back to Illinois to be closer to family and pursue radiology residency. 

Dr. VanAntwerp choose radiology in part due to the vast amount of pathology and the unique complex problem solving that exists in the world of diagnostic imaging. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and taking their dog on walks. He still enjoys playing basketball and being outdoors when weather permits. Dr. VanAntwerp also spends a portion of his free time playing video games and working on home improvement projects that never end. He could not be happier with his co-residents who have made the transition extremely positive and he looks forward to the coming years at SIU School of Medicine.
