John Richards, MD

Assistant Professor
Family Medicine Residency Program | Alton

    About me

Dr. John Richards joined BJC Medical Group as a hospitalist at Alton Memorial Hospital after finishing residency. During his time there he assumed the roles of Lead Hospitalist and Chief of Medicine. Dr. Richards became interested in medical education when the Family Medicine residency program started at AMH in 2021 and he had the opportunity to work with the residents.

His wife happened to be part of the inaugural class, so Dr. Richards became familiar with the inner workings of the program and the residents on a personal level. He has joined the program as clinical teaching faculty since then in a role dedicated to teaching hospital-based medicine.
