    About me

    Mackenzie graduated from Millikin University in 2017 with a BS in Molecular and Cell Biology. Her undergraduate research focused on amphibian immunology (Millikin University) and rockfish metabolic physiology (California State University, Monterey Bay). She joined the Hascup lab as a researcher in September 2020. Since joining the lab, Mackenzie has mainly worked on projects studying cellular senescence in relation to aging and Alzheimer’s disease. Her main laboratory work consists of neuronal and glial cell culturing, qPCR, and tissue cryosectioning/staining. Mackenzie lives in Clinton, Illinois with her husband, two dogs, a cat, and a plethora of fish.
