I chose SIU Decatur Family Medicine Residency because both the faculty and senior residents genuinely care about the success of all the residents and never hesitate to help out whenever and whichever way they can. Also, the program being unopposed cultivates an environment to evolve into an excellent physician and a key member of the Decatur community. What I love most about Decatur is the  welcoming sense of community can be felt when exploring downtown. Everyone I have met who was born and raised in Decatur has been nothing but pleasant.
