Published Date:

Innovators, inventors and entrepreneurs from across the Southern Illinois University System are joining forces for an event that brings together research and enterprise on Dec. 5: the 2024 SIU Technology and Innovation Expo (TIE).

Students, faculty, policy makers and members of the public are encouraged to attend TIE from noon to 4:30 p.m. at SIU Carbondale’s Dunn-Richmond Center; it’s free and registration is encouraged at tie.siu.edu/registration. TIE brings some of the system’s top researchers together with business leaders and entrepreneurs for an afternoon conference and networking. Those attending can look forward to technology presentations, interactive exhibits and more.

“This year, the SIU System Office of Technology Management and Industry Relations team has worked with our researchers and centers in Carbondale, Edwardsville and Springfield to organize this event focusing on biotechnology and how the SIU campuses are making future ideas a reality today,” said SIU System President Dan Mahony. “Our broad range of presentations at TIE demonstrate how our centers are on the cutting edge of new breakthroughs and working with our industry partners to produce meaningful impacts. Their work also illustrates our desire to build strategic partnerships with industry to promote the commercialization of the work of our investigators.”
