Nominations sought for new community engagement award

SIU School of Medicine’s Alliance for Women in Medicine and Science (AWIMS) is seeking nominations for its inaugural Colors of Health Community Engagement Award.

The AWIMS Community Engagement award will be presented to an individual, group or organization that provides a supportive forum to promote honest discussion and positive change in the realms of gender equity, career advancement, work-life balance and community engagement, and who champions the development and promotion of women. 

The recipient will be announced during the Colors of Health Fashion Show on Friday, June 2, at the Hoogland Center for the Arts in Springfield.

To nominate someone for the award, send an email that includes:

  • Your name

  • Name of nominee

  • In 250 words or less, tell us how the nominee meets the goals of the award

Send nominations by Thursday, May 18, to AWIMS community engagement co-chairs Erica Austin at eaustin74@siumed.edu and Stephen Newman at snewman68@siumed.edu.
