Simmons Cancer Institute provides radon testing for area homes

Published Date:

Radon is an invisible gas that can enter homes through cracks in the floors or walls. It causes more than 20,000 lung cancer deaths each year in the U.S.  As part of SIU's autumn cancer prevention efforts, Simmons Cancer Institute staff distributed radon home test kits on November 30. There is no cost to area residents. Guests used the center's circular drive at 315 West Carpenter in Springfield for curbside pick-up.
