    About

After serving in the Navy as a pharmacy technician for nine years, I separated from the service to complete both my BS in Healthcare Administration and Masters in Public Health. I was first introduced to SIU through a professor at University of San Francisco who was able to set up my fieldwork requirements to be completed through an internship with the Department of Population Science and Policy. After my internship, I was proud to accept a full-time position with PSP as a population science research specialist.

I’m passionate about the Department’s mission and Illinois offers unique experiences I would not have gained in California.

My research interests include LGBT sexual and mental health, infectious diseases (specifically HIV and other STIs), opioids, and mental health disparities among disadvantaged populations. I am also the co-chair to the SIU School of Medicine’s Administrative Professional Council and I serve on the Illinois HIV Integrated Planning Council as a non-voting member at large.
