Patient Experience Highlight | Quincy Family Medicine lab team

Published Date:

Our April 2019 celebrated patient experience highlight comes from the Quincy Center for Family Medicine and goes to the clinic’s laboratory team for the outstanding value they provide to the clinic and to our patients.

Running a high complexity laboratory requires an immense level of knowledge and expertise for monitoring test values, lab equipment, and helping our providers apply those results in direct patient care. The lab team also teaches providers how to determine what tests to order with emphasis on meeting each patient’s needs and also keeping clinic costs down. In so doing, the Quincy laboratory is an invaluable resource to our providers and patients alike. Approximately 1,400 tests are conducted in-house on a monthly basis. The Quincy resident program also benefits from having a high complexity lab nearby. Our resident physicians have the option of completing a two-week rotation in the lab which allows them the opportunity to become a Medical Director in a moderately complex lab, should they choose.

The lab team at Quincy Family Medicine consists of:

Cyndy Wollbrink, MT (ASCP)/Lab Supervisor
Barb Sallee, MT (ASCP)
Noel Burns, CMA
Nicole Kuhlman, MOA

A colleague had this to say about our Quincy lab team:

“A Commission on Office Laboratory Accreditation (COLA) inspection is conducted on site every other year. Every inspection has been exemplary with Cyndy, Barb, Noel, and Nicole taking the time to make sure every test is resulted accurately. Cyndy spent many extra hours in the past six months converting new chemistry and coagulation analyzers to keep our lab top notch. While she was busy with that, Barb, Noel, and Nicole went above and beyond to take care of all the patients, specimens, and results. Having such a great lab team within our clinic provides excellent service to our patients before, during, and after their appointments.”
