    About me

    Dr. Shadi Bsat is a highly specialized neurosurgeon and an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine with dual training in adult and pediatric neurosurgery.

    Dr. Bsat completed his medical degree at the Beirut Arab University, followed by neurosurgery residency at the American University of Beirut. He pursued advanced fellowship training in Pediatric Neurosurgery at Children’s Hospital Colorado, Open/Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery, and Complex/Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida.

    Dr. Bsat brings a unique combination of subspecialty expertise to treat complex brain tumors, skull base pathologies, spinal disorders, and a wide range of pediatric neurosurgical conditions. He combines surgical precision with compassion to deliver the most advanced and patient-centered neurosurgical care.

    Dr. Bsat has authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, with research interests in intraoperative imaging, pediatric brain tumor surgery, and minimally invasive neurosurgical techniques. He is an active educator involved in training residents and has received awards for both clinical excellence and teaching. A member of numerous professional societies including the North American Skull Base Society, and the North American Spine Society.

    Dr. Bsat is fluent in English, Arabic, and French, and is deeply committed to providing state-of-the-art, individualized care to patients of all ages.
