    About me

    Primary Responsibilities:

My primary responsibility for the Department of Population Science and Policy is to assist in research efforts aimed at lowering health disparities and improving health outcomes for rural populations in central and southern Illinois areas. I also assist in marketing efforts for the department by providing website and social media support.

    About:

I graduated with a BS in Speech Communication from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. I spent a couple of years working in Marketing and Communications in Carbondale before deciding to pursue a public health graduate degree. During my graduate career, I worked at Student Health Services at SIU in the Wellness and Health Promotion Services department, specializing in sexual health and violence prevention efforts. During this time, I developed a behavioral, sexual health intervention to decrease incidence of sexually transmitted infections among students at SIU. In May of 2021 I graduated with a Master of Public Health degree, specializing in Community Health Education. I have been with Population Science & Policy since June 2021.
