    About me

    Amber Fifer, PharmD, ACRP-CP is a research assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at SIU School of Medicine’s Center for Clinical Research. She also serves as the Department of Neurology’s director of clinical research. Dr. Fifer also has an adjunct appointment as a clinical assistant professor for SIU-Edwardsville School of Pharmacy. She is a board member for the Springfield Committee for Research Involving Human Subjects (SCRIHS) and serves as the Chair of the SIU Conflict of Interest Committee.  Dr. Fifer is a member of the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (ASHP) and the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP). Dr. Fifer earned both her doctor of pharmacy and bachelor’s degree at St. Louis College of Pharmacy.

    Before joining SIU, Dr. Fifer served as the investigational drug pharmacist at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield (2009-14). She also served as St. John’s interim pharmacy clinical coordinator (2011-12) and as a clinical pharmacist for the nutrition support team (2002-06). Dr. Fifer worked as a pharmacist in the Surgical/Burn/Trauma ICU at Barnes-Jewish Hospital Pharmacy (1997-2000) in St. Louis, Mo.
