Southern Illinois University School of Medicine has named five new board members to the school’s Alumni Society Board of Governors. The new board members include: Milton Armstrong, MD, FACS; Richard Austin, MD; Careyana Brenham, MD; Kelli Webb, MD; and Tabatha Wells, MD. The new board members’ three-year term will begin at the April board meeting. SIUEM Chair Dr. David Griffen Receives ICEP Meritorious Service Award

Dr. David Griffen, Chair of the Division of Emergency Medicine at SIU, was honored today with the Dr. Bill Smiley Meritorious Service Award from the Illinois College of Emergency Physicians. He was recognized at the Annual Spring Symposium and recieved the honor from Dr. Valerie Phillips, outgoing President of ICEP. Throughout his career Dr. Griffen has served on various committes for ICEP, two terms on the executive board and completed a term as President in 2015.
