The Department of Surgery will host the 20th Annual Resident Research Day on Thursday, April 27, 2023, in the Memorial Learning Center Auditorium from 7 a.m. - 12 p.m. This year's visiting professor is Dr. Ahmed Ghazi, Associate Professor of Urology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Dr. Ghazi will present "Simulation in Surgery: Not just more simulation, Better simulation." This will be followed by the resident research competition, featuring podium presentations and posters, adjudicated by Surgery faculty. Continental breakfast will be provided.

Decatur Residents participate in DPS Extended Day Program - 2022

The Family Medicine Residency Decatur residents participated in the Decatur Public School Extended day Program with students from Decatur School District schools. The DPS program is a before and after-school program created to bridge the childcare gap for DPS families and support the District’s focus on providing intentional academic opportunities beyond the school day. DPS collaborated with DEA, Decatur Education Association and DFTA, Decatur Federation of Teaching Assistants to develop a program that supports district students and provides a childcare option for working families.
