Telehealth 2.0

The COVID-19 pandemic rapidly changed how we view telehealth. SIU Telehealth Services evolved to meet the needs of both providers and patients. A new system was created that allowed virtual care experiences so patients could remain safely in their homes.

A virtual success story: Telepsychiatry

Time previously spent commuting to a satellite location is now spent seeing patients. The doctors who had been driving two hours round-trip to Jacksonville or Decatur are now seeing four to six more people a day.
