This symposium will address the recognition and management of common neurological problems for primary care providers and other non-neurologists. Participants will also learn how to conduct a neurological examination, determine the appropriate investigations to order and the significance of abnormal findings, and identify the need for referral to a neurologist. Researchers in the MBBS Molecular & Integrative Physiology Concentration strive to improve understanding of the function of molecules, cells, tissues and organisms with an emphasis on their relation to human biology and medicine. Students will use sophisticated cell, molecular and integrative approaches to address research problems in mammalian physiology, vascular physiology, cell physiology, molecular biology, molecular endocrinology, neuroendocrinology, behavioral neuroscience, molecular neuroscience, molecular physiology in sensory organs, reproductive biology, reproductive endocrinology

The Pharmacology & Neuroscience Concentration located on the SIU School of Medicine campus in Springfield , offers advanced coursework and an intensive research experience leading to a PhD or thesis MS degree for those seeking careers in academia, industry, government and/or administration. A preference is given to those seeking a PhD.
