Graduate Program

The MBMB graduate program consists of the Microbiology and Biochemistry departments in Carbondale and the Medical Microbiology, Immunology and Cell Biology (MMICB) department along with the Public Health Laboratory Science (PHLS) program in Springfield.  Within the MMICB department, students can earn a MS or PhD degree in various research areas such as Staphylococcus aureus, molecular oncology, gene therapy, ototoxicity and otoprotective agents, and immune systems role in the reproductive process for example.  Within the PHLS program, students earn a non-thesis MS degree.
