MRC information

The Medical Resource Center provides curriculum support for Medical, MEDPREP, and Physician Assistant students. The collection includes print, electronic, and audiovisual resources in basic and clinical sciences to meet the information needs of these programs.

Card Applications

To apply for an MRC circulation card, please download and complete the application form from the link below and return it to an MRC staff member, either in person or by email.

Book Renewal

You may renew your items in person, by email, or by phone:

Circulation Periods

• Books, Audiovisuals, CDs, DVDs, Microscopes, Slides, and Models - 14 days
• Reserves - 2 hours

Research & Resource Help

• The MRC offers one-on-one and small group instructional sessions for students who would like to learn more about research processes or about using the MRC's physical and electronic resources.
• Email us with your name and a brief summary of your instructional needs to schedule a session. 

MRC Policies

Noise & Study Zones

In order to provide an optimal environment for study and for library staff to work, patrons are asked to respect the designated Noise & Study Zones within the MRC.

• Collaborative Zones - Group work and conversations, including on cell phones, at normal speaking volume.
• Quiet Study Zones - Brief conversations, including on cell phones, at a low speaking volume.
• Silent Zones - No talking, including cell phone conversations.

Please honor requests for quiet and move as needed so that your activities and noise level are appropriate to the study zone.

Private Study Rooms

Personal belongings may not be left in study rooms for the purpose of "holding" the room. Items left longer than 30 minutes will be removed by library staff to a secure location. They may be retrieved during circulation hours.

Personal Belongings

The MRC is not responsible for any belongings left unattended in the library.

Space Heaters

Space heaters are prohibited in the library.

The MRC circulation services will be closed on the following days:

• Independence Day: Jul 4, 2023
• Labor Day: Sep 4, 2023
• Thanksgiving Break: Nov 23-24, 2023
• Winter Break: Dec 23-29, 2023 
   
• New Year's Day: Jan 1, 2024
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Jan 15, 2024
• Spring Break: Mar 11-15, 2024
• Memorial Day: May 27, 2024
• Juneteenth: Jun 19, 2024
