The SIU School of Medicine’s Office of Certification Strategies manages the approval process for experienced doulas who qualify through either the Training Program Pathway or the Legacy Pathway This is part of the Illinois Medicaid-Certified Doula initiative. Winter can be an isolating time of year and that can be especially true for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Venturing out into the cold weather and dealing with shorter days limits the options of activities that stimulate the mind.
