James Waymack, MD ’10, has been named Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at SIU SOM. Dr. Waymack completed medical school and residency training in emergency medicine at the SIU School of Medicine, and has served the School with distinction in roles as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine since 2013. Within the Department, he has served as residency program director, chief of the division of education, and interim chair. He holds an MBA degree from SIU-Edwardsville, and has developed significant local and national expertise in tactical law enforcement

As the most common type of cancer in the United States, skin cancer affects 1 in 5 people before the age of 70. Estimates show that on a daily basis in the United States, 50 people die of skin cancer and another 9,500 people will receive a skin cancer diagnosis. Davie named chair of Biomedical Sciences

Dr. Judy Davie has been named the chair of the Department of Biomedical Sciences in Carbondale. She joined the SIU School of Medicine faculty in 2006, and has served as assistant and associate professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
