The Family Medicine Residency Decatur residents participated in the Decatur Public School Extended day Program with students from Decatur School District schools. The DPS program is a before and after-school program created to bridge the childcare gap for DPS families and support the District’s focus on providing intentional academic opportunities beyond the school day. Southern Illinois University School of Medicine has received a $42,000 grant for a planning project to improve the health and wellness of students in Decatur public schools.
