Residency Match Results List for SIU School of Medicine March 20, 2020, SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS – Senior medical students in the graduating Class of 2020 at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine received results from the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) on Friday, March 20, at the same time other U.S. medical students learned their matches to postgraduate training programs. SIU Alton Family Residency Program Granted Initial Accreditation by the ACGME

In light of our recent accreditation, we put together a short newsletter. Click here for a PDF version of the text below. After months of planning, and much hard work on the part of many people, we applied for and have received accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). We were notified of our official approval on May 4, 2020. The Alliance for Women and Medicine and Science and Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion hosted the second annual Women in Medicine and Science Professional Development conference on Friday, June 14 in the MCLI. Medical students will be based, trained in rural regions Southern Illinois University School of Medicine has a 50-year tradition of educating physicians to improve health care in central and southern Illinois. This summer a new Doctor of Medicine track has been introduced to give students the knowledge, skills and perspective to provide care in rural areas. SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS – SIU Medicine invites golfers to form teams for the annual charity golf outing benefiting the Camp COCO Children’s Cancer Fund. A shotgun start will begin the game at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, June 7, at The Rail Golf Course, 1400 S. Club House Dr., Springfield. H.D. Smith is the presenting sponsor of the four-person scramble. Simmons Cancer Institute to Host HPV Roundtable for Parents

Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU Medicine will host “The ABC’s of HPV” at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 21. The roundtable discussion will provide parents and guardians with an opportunity to discuss human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccinations with medical professionals from Southern Illinois University Medicine.
